Houghton Lake is the largest Inland Lake in the great state of Michigan. This vast body of water is a Mesotrophic lake, meaning it is very fertile and rich with plant growth and nutrients. Houghton Lake is one of the most diverse fisheries in the state outside of the great lakes and offers anglers the opportunity at a mixed bag of fish on even the worst days of fishing. Anglers can expect to catch Walleye, Northern Pike, Small and Large mouth bass, Crappie, Blue Gill, Perch and many other species, all while casting into one clump of weeds or working along the same break line.
